Capital City Literacy Project

Cheri McDaniel and Shirley Darden are pictured at the Book Fair Cheri held for over 300 St. James Place employees to choose books for their family and neighbor children’s home libraries.

Through the cooperative efforts of Martha Collins soliciting books from McGraw Hill, Wal-Mart transporting them to Baton Rouge for the Food Bank to receive and store them, 12 pallets with thousands of new free books were distributed for home libraries of  Pre-K through fifth grade student.  Capital City members,  Cheri McDaniel, Pat Robinson and Charles Landreneau distributed to over numerous non-profits transporting  to over 46 elementary schools.
